Do I have to hand wash it like my last bottle?

No. The lid and straw go in the dishwasher, which is the part that matters. Place the lid open on the top rack along with the straw. For best results wash the body with soap and warm water and our soft silicone bottle brush, which cleans thoroughly without scratching the surface.

Will the lid go mouldy like my old one?

It should not. Air-dry it with the lid open after washing and that is really it. There are no hidden channels for build-up to sit in. The seals are made to stay put, so leave them in place and replace the set when they are due.

Will it actually fit my car cupholder?

The 770ml has a 75mm base and tapers at the bottom, so it fits most car cupholders. If yours is 76mm or wider you are all good. The 940ml fits some but not all.

The 770ml has a 75mm base and tapers at the bottom, so it fits most car cupholders. Some cars, particularly 4WDs and utes, have narrower or deeper holders, so it’s worth measuring yours.

If it’s 76mm or wider you’re all good. Note the boot adds a few millimetres.

The 940ml fits some cup holders but not all.

We created Mode & Opal because we were tired of the ones that didn’t quite work. Hard to clean, awkward to sip from, or too heavy to carry.

Ours are made for real life. The spout is shaped for a natural sip (so you don’t have to pucker or strain), the lid is dishwasher-safe, and the handle and body is designed to feel balanced even when the bottle’s full.

Every detail is intentional, so you actually enjoy using it.

Only the lid and straw is dishwasher-safe. Place the lid open on the top rack of the dishwasher along with the straw.

To prevent leaks, make sure the lid is properly clicked shut before placing it in your bag. Make sure both seals are in place and avoid overfilling it, especially with warm liquids that build up steam.

Our bottles are designed for cold or hot (not boiling) drinks. They can keep your drinks hot for up to 18 hours.

You can safely add warm liquids, but avoid boiling liquid or carbonated drinks. Pressure build-up could cause leaks, damage or injury.
